Euroleague extended the ban to Russian clubs for the season 2023/24.

The clubs of the Russian Federation will not be able to play in the upcoming season due to the war that Russia unleashed on the territory of Ukraine. Note that the Russian CSKA, Zenit and Unix were excluded from the previous two Euroleague draws.

Also at the meeting, the formats for holding the Euroleague and the Eurocup in the 2023/24 season were agreed upon. 18 clubs will play in the upcoming Euroleague. Among the 20 clubs participating in the Eurocup is the Ukrainian Prometheus.

Earlier, FIBA ​​suspended all Russian teams and clubs from competitions under its auspices. Also, the International Basketball Federation rejected Russia’s application to host EuroBasket 2025.

Real Madrid became the champion of the Euroleague 2022/23. In the final, the Spanish team beat Olympiacos.
