Avtodor has announced the signing of a contract with American center Rashon Hammonds.
According to the Saratov club’s press service, the deal with the 25-year-old basketball player is designed for the 2023/24 season.
– We signed the first legionnaire this offseason. Hammonds is a talented young player with experience playing at a good European level. The “big” mobiles will add energy to us under the shields. We hope that Raishon will open up in our team and reach a new level, at the same time we will give him the opportunity to prove himself,” club president Vladimir Rodionov said.
Last season Hammonds played for Germany’s Göttingen and made 36 appearances for the club. The center averaged 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in 21 minutes per game.
The Saratov team in the 2022/23 season took second place in Group B of the VTB United League regular season. In the first round playoff Avtodor lost to CSKA Moscow 0-3.
