Ukraine will play in Istanbul in Group C
Ukrainian national basketball team started preparations for pre-qualifiers for the 2024 Olympics.
There are 13 players in the blue-yellow roster. Vitaly Stepanovsky’s team will start a training camp in Riga on July 15.
The Ukrainian national team included Vitaliy Zotov, Alexander Kovlyar, Anatoly Shundel, Ilya Tyrtyshnik, Issuf Sanon, Pavel Krutous, Alexander Lipovoy, Andriy Voinalovich, Vyacheslav Bobrov, Igor Chumakov, Sergey Pavlov, Vyacheslav Petrov, Vyacheslav Kravtsov and Artem Pustovoi.
Ukraine will play in Istanbul in Group C, where the rivals in the group round will be the local Turkish team, as well as the teams of Iceland and Bulgaria.
Our team will meet with the Bulgarian national team on August 12, with the Icelandic national team – on August 13, but with the Turkish national team – on August 15. Next stages: August 18 – semi-finals, the final will be played on August 20.
To enter the qualifying tournament, Ukraine needs to become one of the top two teams in the group stage, and then win the playoffs, which starts from the semi-finals.
Only the winners of the pre-qualifying tournaments will receive a spot in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
