Blue-and-yellows will begin preparations for the pre-qualification tournament for the 2024 Olympics on July 15
Attacking defender Alexander Mishula joined the expanded national team of Ukrainewhich will hold a training camp from the end of July to the beginning of August in Riga.
Last season, the 31-year-old defender played for Cypriot Keravnos. Misula previously participated in the selection for EuroBasket 2022, where he averaged 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in four games.
Alexander became the 15th player of the team at the training camp in Riga, which starts on July 15th. The blue-yellows have scheduled test matches with Lithuania (July 29), Sweden (July 31), Israel (August 5) and the Netherlands (August 7).
Ukraine will play in Istanbul in Group C of the pre-qualification tournament for the 2024 Olympics. The blue-yellows will face Turkey in the group stage, as well as teams from Iceland and Bulgaria.
Our team will meet with the Bulgarian national team on August 12, with the Icelandic national team – on August 13, but with the Turkish national team – on August 15. Next stages: August 18 – semi-finals, the final will be played on August 20.
To enter the qualifying tournament, Ukraine needs to become one of the top two teams in the group stage, and then win the playoffs, which starts from the semi-finals. Only the winners of the pre-qualifying tournaments will receive a spot in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
