CSKA announced last week that 36-year-old Kurbanov had signed a new one-year contract with the Rouge-Bleu.
– It’s very good that Nikita stayed. It’s the right decision. Kurbanov is the team captain. However, he has been playing for a very long time, he is an experienced basketball player, and at the same time he has not yet exhausted himself. He still has very good playing potential and he has the opportunity to help CSKA,” Yelevich told a correspondent.
Kurbanov is an 11-time Russian champion, three-time Euroleague winner.
