Javier Pascal will continue to work as the head coach of St. Petersburg”Zenith “at least until the end of the 2023/24 season, reports the press service of the basketball club.
With the 50-year-old Spanish specialist, all his staff remain at Zenit: assistants Inigo Zorsano, Adamantios Panagiotopoulos, Maxim Uchaikin and scout Kuzei Kilic.
Pascual took over the reins of Zenit in 2020, and in 2021 he signed a new contract with the club until 2024. In the 2021/22 season, the Saint Petersburg club became the champions of the VTB United League and last season took fourth place. Previously, Pascual coached Greek ‘Panathinaikos’ and Spanish ‘Barcelona’.
