With Fernando Rosanova as squad coach, the Academy will change categories after its performance in the metropolitan area, where it qualified for the quarterfinals (2021) and final (2022).
The race will be played in the next edition of the Argentine Basketball League, the second category in the country, because they got the place sold by the Association of Clubs (AdC) and will have time until Friday the 18th to present the relevant guarantees and be registered in the tournament.
The Avellaneda club is enrolled in the Southern Conference of the competition, which starts in October. The other entities that will be playing for the first time in the Argentine League are Atenas de Córdoba (coming from the National League), Provincial de Rosario and Unión de Mar del Plata (coming from their respective Federal competitions). All three teams are located in the Conference North.
Meanwhile, teams from Amancay de La Rioja, who secured a spot from Central Argentino Olímpico de Ceres, and Sportivo Suardi, who entered into a sports alliance with Del Progreso from General Roca, will also go to the northern side.
The start date is scheduled for October 15 with the first round of nine weeks until December 15 where each team is expected to play half of their regular season matches. The summer break runs from December 23 to January 5, followed the next day by another nine weeks in which teams will play the second half of their regular season games.

- South: Ameghino de Villa María, Atlético Pilar, Cyclist Juninense, Deportivo Viedma, Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata, Hispano Americano de Río Gallegos, La Unión de Colón, Lanús, Pico Football Club, Quilmes de Mar del Plata, Pergamino Básquet, Provincial de Rosario, Racing Club de Avellaneda, Racing de Chivilcoy, Tomás de Rocamora, Unión de Mar del Plata and Villa Miter de Bahía Blanca.
