FIBA Basketball Arbitration Tribunal ordered Budivelnik to pay ex-player Clavell $26,000

The court ruled in favor of the Puerto Rican basketball player

FIBA officially announced that, as a result of the trial, Budivelnik must pay his former player Gian Clavell more than 26 thousand US dollars.

According to the decision of the Basketball Arbitration Tribunal, the Kiev club must pay the Puerto Rican, firstly, 20 thousand dollars on account of the previously outstanding debt, and secondly, to pay another total of 6160 euros (about 6.9 thousand dollars) as various costs.

The 29-year-old attacking defender played for Budivelnyk from 2021 to 2022, becoming the silver medalist of the Ukrainian Super Cup in his squad. In 2022, the Puerto Rico national team player left Ukraine and moved to the championship of his native country. However, in June of the same year, he continued his career in Prometheus, in particular, not so long ago he was recognized as the MVP of the season in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League.

Budivelnik became champions of Ukraine last season, winning 31 matches in the Super League with one defeat.

The Ukrainian Basketball Championship in three divisions was recently approved.
