2008 Olympics bronze medalist on the Russian national team Becky Hammon is included in the Basketball Hall of Fame, according to the NBA website.
The ceremony took place on Saturday in Springfield (USA).
Hammon is the first female coach in league history. In 2020, she became the first woman to lead an NBA team, the San Antonio Spurs, as head coach. Under her guidance, the Las Vegas Aces won the NBA Women’s Championship in the 46-year-old’s first season.
As a member of the Russian national team, Hammon won bronze at the Beijing Games, as well as silver at the 2009 European Championship. In Russia, the basketball player played for CSKA Moscow, Nadezhda Orenburg and Sparta & K near Moscow.
Also included in the Basketball Hall of Fame are NBA champions of different years, Spaniard Pau Gasol, German Dirk Nowitzki, Frenchman Tony Parker, American Dwyane Wade and San Antonio head coach Gregg Popovich.
