Our basketball team took another step to get a ticket to the Paris Games.

The Ukrainian national basketball team got its second victory in the prequalification for the 2024 Olympics. Our national team met with Iceland and confidently defeated the opponent.

The team of Vitaliy Stepanovsky from the beginning of the meeting behaved confidently throughout the match and did not allow the opponents to dream of getting two points.

The Blue-Yellows won with a score of 82:69, losing separately in the first and last quarter with a small gap.

Oleksandr Kovlyar, player of the Ukrainian team, became the best player of the match, scoring 23 points this time.

Thus, the Ukrainian national basketball team secured a place ahead of schedule in the semifinals of the prequalification playoffs for the 2024 Olympics. Access to the next round of selection was made after the victory of Turkey against Bulgaria (104:66) in another match of the quartet.

The last match of the prequalification group stage for the 2024 Olympics, the Ukrainian team will play against the hosts of the tournament, the Turkish team – it will take place on August 15.
