CSKA’s basketball budget will be cut next season – club president

President of the PBC CSKA Andrey Vatutine during a press conference on the introduction of a new head coach, he said that the budget of the basketball team for the 2022/23 season will be reduced.

The contract with the North Macedonian specialist Emil Rajkovic is designed for two seasons, Rajkovic, 43, replaced the Greek Dimitris Itoudis in this position.

– No sports club can live isolated from the economic events that are currently taking place. There will certainly be a reduction in the budget, but it is still difficult to say how significant it will be. The main thing is that we, the team owner and part of the sponsors, have the desire to make CSKA ambitious and competitive.

So far, there is no understanding of the final size of the budget. There are difficulties, we are not going to hide it, but we continue to work. I repeat, no sports team can live in isolation from the new reality, as they say. There will be a budget cut, I think it will affect everyone,” Vatutin told a news conference.

Last season, CSKA reached the final of the VTB United League, where they lost to Zenit 3-4 in the series.
