Mykhailyuk wants to become a Miami Heat player

It all depends on Lillard’s transfer

Ukrainian defender Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk may continue his career in the NBA club – Miami Heat.

The transition of the Ukrainian depends on the possible transfer of Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Heat. If the deal is successful, Miami will need several low-budget players, among them a shooter position that Svyat can close.

At the same time, Mikhailyuk will not be able to get a two-way contract in the NBA. The Ukrainian himself, for the sake of a theoretical transition to Miami, is ready to miss the start of the season in the NBA.

Previously, Svyatoslav negotiated with the Boston Bruins, but could not agree on the details of the contract. The Ukrainian also suspended negotiations with the Greek Panathinaikos.

It was reported that Real and Olympia were also interested in Mikhailyuk. The Ukrainian wanted to include a clause on early retirement at any time in the contract, which did not suit the Euroleague clubs.

In February, Mikhailyuk joined the Charlotte Hornets. The Ukrainian became part of an exchange between the Portland Trail Blazers, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Hornets. Now Svyatoslav is in the status of a free agent.

In the 2022/23 season, Mikhailyuk played 19 matches for Charlotte. The defender averaged 10.6 points and 2.7 assists per game.

The Miami Heat kick off the new NBA season against the Detroit Pistons on October 25.
