FIBA Basketball World Cup attendance record set in Dominican Republic v Philippines game

The group stage match of the Basketball World Championship between the national teams of the Dominican Republic and the Philippines has become an attendance record in the history of the tournament, reports the press service of the International Basketball Federation -ball (FIBA).

Group A met at the Arena Philippines in Manila and ended in victory for the Dominicans with a score of 87:81. The match brought together 38,115 supporters.

The previous record was set in the 1994 World Cup final in Toronto (Canada). There were 32,616 spectators during the match between the American and Russian teams.

The 2023 World Cup is taking place for the first time in three countries: Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines. The tournament started on Friday.
