Luka Doncic’s Slovenia had to work hard to beat Venezuela in Group F of the FIBA World Cup 2023. At the Okinawa Arena, they went 100-85 in a magnificent performance by the leader of the Dallas Mavericks.
Aleksander Sekulic’s men managed to take a good lead in the third period. Doncic, again, mainly recorded 37 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. In addition, the nationalized Mike Tobey signed a list with 21 units.
Venezuela, under the command of Argentine Fernando Duró, played almost on par with its rival. Between zone defenses and assigning Michael Carrera with the Slovenian star, along with a very high three-pointer percentage, the South Americans are at stake.
Among the highlights of the Venezuelan team, Garly Sojo added 16 points with 4/7 on 3 shots. Other standouts, despite the loss, were Heissler Guillent and Jhornan Zamora with 12 points each. .
