Angola improved Group A after defeating host Philippines 80 to 70 and thus leaving everything wide open for the final day.
With five players in double-digit scoring and good defense in all players who aren’t Jordan Clarkson, the African team is well rounded.
Gerson Goncalves came out on top in the win with 17 points. Former NBA player Bruno Fernando contributed 14 and 7 rebounds, with Gerson Domingos also adding 15. Jilson Bango and Silvio de Sousa brought 10 more to each of their sheets.
The Philippines, with the game’s top scorer with 21 points in Clarkson, was not eliminated. Of course, they will need to beat Italy on the final day by a good margin.
Anything can happen in this group, we have to wait for the final date to know which teams will advance to the next stage.
