Led by Carlik Jones, South Sudan shocked China

The African team, with a shared score, defeated the Asians on the second day.

Second day of activity in Group B, where we had some surprises on Monday morning. South Sudan achieved its first win of the tournament after defeating China with a resounding 89 to 69. This way, the Africans remain at 1-1 record; while the Asians have yet to taste success.

South Sudan has several important points in this victory. To boot, the fight for offensive rebounds and the possibility of scoring from the second chance. He took advantage of the speed to run up the court and score on the counterattack. He also has great effectiveness from the perimeter; with 15/30 in that area. Five players finished in double digits. Carlik Jones was the leading scorer with 21 points; with 7/15 on field goals; including 6 assists. He was accompanied by Kuany Ngor Kuany with 16 units. Nuni Omot completed the offensive trident with 14 goals in 21 minutes on the field.

China shortened their roster, with six players above the 20-minute line, but without much effect. Kaier Li, with 22 points, was the highlight, followed by Rui Zhao’s 13.
