At the close of the group stage of the FIBAWorld Cup, Lithuania took first place in group D.
Group D of the World Cup already knows its two classifications; but it remained to be determined who would be the leader for the next phase of the tournament. In this context, Lithuania and Montenegro came unbeaten to close the first stage. The Lithuanians dominated from start to finish and took the match with a comfortable score of 91-71.
After a rough start between the two teams; those led by Kazys Maksvytis began to unstuck in the second set; following a dynamic that was maintained in the following two quarters. With the attractive rhythm of the game; a long rotation and great effectiveness near the basket, ended up celebrating the leadership of the group. Rokas Jokubaitis was the team figure, with 19 points. He was accompanied by Mindaugas Kuzminskas with 15 units; while Jonas Valanciunas assisted on 11 goals.
