“European clubs have treated me with suspicion. Playing in Russia to prove how wrong they are.” – Ware

CSKA Moscow playmaker Casper Items said in an interview with that the reason for his move from Australian Kings Sydney to Enisey Krasnoyarsk was his career ambitions.

Ware, 33, became a player CSKA as of March 2022, he previously played for Enisey, as well as clubs in the Australian, Polish, French, Italian and German basketball leagues. Additionally, Ware has 9 games for the NBA Philadelphia 66ers in 2014.

“My agent and I talked about the need for change, trying to progress in my basketball career. I played for a long time in Australia, four or five years, and European clubs treated me with suspicion. I wanted to prove how wrong they were, to convince them that I can also play in Europe and at a high level. We contacted Yenisei and came to an agreement… I’m glad I moved to Krasnoyarsk, because in the end I ended up in CSKA.

– There was a story on the net that you could go from Yenisei not at all to CSKA, but to Adelaide. But Australians perceived the transfer of money to Russia as a political act, and this transfer failed. Was it so?

This is one of the questions for which I have no answer. We discussed the transition with an agent and came to the conclusion: between Adelaide and CSKA, the best choice for me is the army team. Like I said, I came to prove that I can play at a high level in Europe,” Ware told .

In 65 official matches (62 in the starting lineup) played for the Army team over a season and a half, the American point guard averaged 26 minutes per game on the field and scored 13.3 points.
