At the Manila Mall Of Asia Arena, Serbia was huge against Lithuania and they were the first team to reach the semi-finals of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
Displaying some very high scores, both collectively and individually, Svetislav Pešić’s men were fair winners of the match. It’s 91 to 69 and now they’ll have to wait for Canada or Slovenia.
While the beginning of the game saw the Lithuanians all their offensive effectiveness, the Balkans built from the back to the front. Their defense is getting stronger. They pressed and recovered a lot of the ball, something that allowed them to score easy points. They are patient, they know how to move the ball to destroy their opponent’s painted area. And, most importantly, they have a Bogdan Bogdanovic in his NBA prime.
The man from the Atlanta Hawks, who closed the first half with 18 points (21 in total), was the great figure of the game. Solidarity defensively, lethal in attack, he is the leader the Serbs need.
