Polytechnic-Galicia announced the signing of a defender Maxim Safonov. Details of the agreement are not specified.
“I confess that I had offers from other teams, but I chose the Polytechnic-Galicia. Here the management of the club created good conditions for my professional growth. I hope that I will get enough playing time on the court from the coaching staff of the team and will please the fans with my game, ”said Safonov.
Last season, Safonov played for Budivelnik, with whom he became the champion of the Super League. The defender played 30 matches for the Kyiv team, averaging 4.8 points per game.
This summer, Safonov played for the Ukraine U-20 team at the European Championships in Division B. Dmytro Zabirchenko’s team finished third, but did not advance in the class.
Polytechnica-Galicia finished fifth in the 2022/23 Super League with 15 wins in 32 matches.
