Widow of one of the greatest basketball players in history, Kobe Bryant, reveals details of Nike’s Kobe sneakers that some college athletes will be able to wear
After much speculation, Vanessa Bryantwidow of one of the greatest basketball players in history, Kobe Bryant, finally gave some spoilers from the beginning of the “Mamba Program”. The ex-player’s wife gave details about the program on social networks this past Tuesday, 5, confirming that some colleges affiliated with the Nike are partnering with Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation to further the legacy of the late athlete and his daughter, Gianna Bryantwho died in the same accident as his father.
As previously disclosed, the University of Kentucky is part of the list of institutions, but Vanessa also revealed that the University of ConnecticutThe University of Southern CaliforniaThe University of OregonThe duke university and the Louisiana State University are joining the foundation.
“We are delighted by the great support of these prestigious universities with the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation – to carry forward the legacies of Kobe and Gigi”wrote Vanessa, through her Instagram. “So excited to see your players wearing Nike’s Kobes and Gigis shoes coming this coming season!” completed.
In June, John DonahoeCEO of Nikeconfirmed the relaunch of the Kobes line, which began with the launch of the Kobe 8 “Halo”, last month. Vanessa also confirmed that some new models of this shoe will be released in the coming years to celebrate Kobe’s birthday. As part of the “Mamba Program”, basketball players from the aforementioned colleges will wear Nike Kobes during the 2023//24 season of NCAA.
