Latvia and Lithuania will play in the match for fifth place
On 2023 FIBA World Championship on Thursday there were two play-off matches for 5-8 places.
In the first fight Latvia beat Italy — 87:82. The Italians had a good start, winning the first quarter by 8 points. However, then Latvia intercepted the course of the game and brought the match to victory.
In the second match of the game day Lithuania outplayed Slovenia — 100:84. The Baltic national team seized the advantage after the first quarter and did not allow the team of Luka Doncic to win back the backlog.
In the match for fifth place, Lithuania will play with Latvia. Italy and Slovenia will play 7-8 places. Both matches will take place on September 9th.
Recall that the semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup will be held on September 8. Canada will play Serbia and the US will play Germany. The World Cup, hosted by Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines, will end on September 10. The final match will take place in Pasay, a suburb of Manila.
