Athletistic/Basketball. The Khimki court in the Moscow region has decided to extend the arrest of American basketball player Brittney Griner, detained at Russian Sheremetyevo airport for drug trafficking.
“Greiner’s term of detention has been extended until December 20,” a spokesman for the Khimki court said.
Brittney Greiner was detained at Sheremetyevo airport on February 17, 2022 because electronic cigarettes containing hash oil were found in the athlete’s belongings. Griner’s criminal hearing is scheduled for July 1, 2022.
The basketball player has been playing for the American team Phoenix Mercury since 2014. During the off-season breaks of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) regular season, Greiner plays for the Russian club UMMC Yekaterinburg (2015 – present).
