In the past, the Yugoslav wars devastated the entire Balkan territory. Thus, Partizan had to choose its ‘home’ elsewhere, and the team that offered to host it at the time was Fuenlabrada. Since then, the two teams have developed a great relationship that also culminated in a historic milestone for the Serbian club, as it was champion of the 1992 Euroleague, its only victory to date.
In the match this Wednesday, the 13th, Partizan fans, amid the effervescent atmosphere, shouted Fuenlabrada’s name more than once and showed banners of thanks to the Spanish club. The Serbs won by a score of 93 to 63, even though, given history, the result seems to be the least relevant factor in the confrontation.
