Athletistic / Basketball. Zenit St. Petersburg has agreed to conclude a contract with heavyweight striker Maxim Ilvovsky. This was reported by the journalist of the French BeBasket portal Alexandre Sanson.
According to the source, the 21-year-old basketball player will start the season at farm club Zenit, which plays in the Russian Super League. However, if his progress is noticeable, then Ilvovsky will be able to join the main blue-white-blue team.
Maxim Ilvovsky has dual nationality: French and Russian. Last season he played in the French Championship for Strasbourg, taking part in both the main team and youth team matches. Maxim played 13 matches as a starter. It is worth noting that Zenit currently has two Frenchmen – Thomas Ertel and Adrien Moerman.
Last season, Zenit took third place in the regular championship of the VTB United League. In the playoffs, the St. Petersburg team could not show everything that it was capable of: in the semifinals, Javier Pascual’s team lost to UNICS (3:4 in the series), and in the match for third place she lost to CSKA (1:4 in the series).
