Prometheus and Kharkov Falcons will play in the Major League 2023/24

Both clubs played in the Super League until 2022, but missed last season

The composition of the participants has become known Ukrainian Major League in basketball for the season 2023/24.

Among others, the list includes such clubs as BC Prometheus And Kharkov Falcons. Both of these clubs played in the Super League until 2022, but for various reasons missed last season.

Let us remind you that Prometheus refused to participate in the Super League in the 2022/23 season due to disagreements with the FBU. At the end of last season, Ronen Ginzburg’s team became the winners of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League and also reached the semi-finals of the EuroCup.

Subsequently, Prometheus contacted the FBU regarding the possibility of returning to the Super League. Executive Committee Ukrainian Basketball Federation By a majority vote, he decided to invite Prometheus to play in the Major League – according to the sports principle. The club’s first reaction was a refusal, but subsequently Prometheus nevertheless accepted the Federation’s offer and applied to participate in the Major League for the 2023/24 season.

In turn, the Kharkov Falcons missed the 2022/23 season in the national championship due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine. The Kharkiv club played in the Super League in the period 2019-22. The Falcons played two seasons (2017/18, 2018/19) in the Major League. In July of this year, Kharkiv residents submitted an application to participate in the Major League of the coming season.
