Now the club will perform under the name Cherkasy Mavpy-Dnepr
BC Cherkasy Mavpy announced a name change.
From the new Super League season 2023/24 the club will play under the name Cherkasy Mavpy-Dnepr. The club also announced the start of cooperation with CP MSK Dnepr.
“The main goal of this partnership is cooperation to popularize basketball, organizing and holding official basketball competitions at the national level. We are proud of this new page in the history of our club and believe that it will bring more opportunities and open new horizons for our players and fans.”
We are confident that this new stage in our history will help us reach new heights and bring joy to our fans,” the club emphasized in a statement.
Earlier, the Mavs announced the transfer of American defender Armoni Foster, forward Andrei Kalnichenko, center Roman Novikov and big man Andrei Agafonov. Defenders Nikita Ruslov and Sergei Kuznetsov, center Sergei Skira, as well as Artur Nazarenko and Maxim Fesun also extended their agreements with the club.
In the new Super League season 2023/24, the team will continue to be led by Artem Slipenchuk. Under his leadership, Mavpa took seventh place in the last Super League.
