The women’s and men’s teams of our country will seek glory on the other side of the Cordillera.
Men’s and women’s basketball will once again participate in the Pan American Games, which will be held in Chile. In the final week the groups are drawn, so both teams know their rivals on the way to the title quest. The odd date of the tournament indicates that a good portion of the summonses are from American competitions. In the men’s branch, some players from European youth teams may come to join the team, but there are still distant negotiations.
The group stage of the women’s branch starts on Wednesday, October 25 and runs until Friday the 27th. Subsequently, the four best teams occupying the first two positions in each group will play in the semifinal phase. For their part, the rest will participate in reclassification games. The semis will be played on Saturday 28th, while the finals are set for Sunday 29th October. Argentina is in group A with Cuba, Chile and Puerto Rico. In B are Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil and Colombia.
