The decision was announced by insider Adrian Wojnarowski. Thus, Brunson became the first player in NBA history to sign a contract worth over $100 million, despite never having been an NBA All-Star before.
Jaylen played for the Dallas Mavericks from 2018 to 2022. During the 2021-2022 NBA regular season, Brunson played in 79 games, averaging 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists in every game. Jaylen played in 18 playoff games, averaging 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
