Living the best moments of his career in the city of Los Angeles, the winger confessed that it would be a dream for him to be able to retire playing for the franchise
During a press conference this past Wednesday, 4th, the winger Paul George revealed that he is in talks with the Los Angeles Clippers to be able to renew his contract with the Californian franchise and took the opportunity to talk about how happy he is, thinking about retiring for the team.
“It’s active. But both sides need to be on the same page and that’s what we’re trying to figure out.”said the winger. “An organization that believes in winning and does everything it can to win. Why not retire here? It would be a dream. I hope I can hold on, I hope I can compete for multiple championships while I’m a Clipper. I want to be able to say that I played at home and did something great at home, that’s the first step.”he completed.
Paul George has a player option worth US$48.7 million for the 2024/25 season, but the expectation is that he will decline it in order to sign a new long-term contract with the team. One of the interesting questions will be whether the Clippers will be willing to commit to another maximum deal for an athlete who hasn’t played even 60 games in a season since 2018/19 due to injuries.
