Two basketball players from the Hapoel Tel Aviv youth academy – brothers Yiftah Kotz and Yonatan Kotz – died as a result of the armed conflict between Israel and Palestine, the club’s press service reports.
“It is with unimaginable pain that Hapoel Basketball Club reports the murder of two players from our academy, Yiftah and Yonatan Kotz, residents of Kfar Gaza, who were killed in their home. Yiftach and Yonatan were killed along with their father Aviv, mother Livnat and sister Rotem in a brutal attack on Saturday morning, the club said in a statement.
On Saturday, armed conflict broke out between Israel and Palestine. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared in a speech to the nation that the country was in a state of war.
