Complex beginnings for Gimnasia in Sudamericana

The Patagonia team reacted to the closing, but was defeated by the Chilean team.

The Argentine Patagonia team did not perform well in its first match in the South American League. Gimnasia y Esgrima de Comodoro Rivadavia once again had the same difficulties as at the beginning of the National League season. Beyond the last comeback, they were left empty-handed after losing to Leones de Quilpué 75 to 71.

It was clearly not the ideal start for Martín Villagrán’s team. The effectiveness percentages are not good for green. Although they had better responses in the painted zone, they suffered from the aerial fight dominated by the rival with a large number of offensive rebounds, added from the second chances. In a very simple game, where the dynamic is always trying to find the best spot for the teammate, the Chileans managed to get a lead of 13 points. From there, with good individual passages from Gimnasia, they got back into the game, but they couldn’t finish breaking the match in their favor.

The meeting figures:

As was the case in the team’s last two games, Brandon Nazione finished as the Argentina team’s top scorer. The foreigner completed his scoresheet with 18 points; with 7/14 on field goals. He also contributed 6 rebounds and 3 assists. He was joined by Gerard DeVaughn, author of 12 points and 5 boards. They were the only ones to score double figures. In the Chilean team, Golan Gutt’s performance stood out, with 18 goals. Former National League player Justin Satchell contributed 16 points in 34 minutes.

How the contest proceeds:

There is no time for recriminations for Gimnasia, who will take court again on Tuesday to make amends. Leones de Potosí will face the green team from 9:10 pm
