NBA analyzes changes to the All-Star Game format and studies returning to its origins

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver revealed that one of the alternatives to changing the format of the league’s famous all-star game could be the traditional East x West

O All-Star Game it may be returning to its origins soon! Adam Silvercommissioner of NBArevealed this Tuesday, 17th, during an interview with “ESPN” from U.Swhat changes are coming to the most anticipated event of the year for basketball lovers.

While not saying exactly that any decision has been made, Silver hinted that the current format of top-rated players serving as captains and picking their own teams may be set aside. “We’ve lost a little of the notion that, at the end of the day, what matters is the game”he stated. “Perhaps, a return to something more traditional, in terms of how teams are presented. We now have a sort of captain’s choice, but clearly, historically, it was East vs. West, so that’s something we’re looking at.”added the commissioner.

This season’s All-Star Game will be in Indianapolis, on February 18, but the format has not yet been defined. The first 66 events were East vs. West style. The last 6 were with the most voted athletes serving as captains and forming their teams. The last four had a target score at the end of the games, guaranteeing a finish. In the final quarters, the winner was the first team to achieve what the leading team had after three quarters, plus 24 points, a tribute to Kobe Bryant.
