Charlotte Hornets Rookie Sued in Wrongful Death Claim Lawsuit; victim died in shooting near the University of Alabama
According to the report of Chris Lowfrom “ESPN” U.Spublished this Friday, 20, the family of Jamea Jonae Harrisyoung woman murdered by a gunshot near the University of Alabama in January of this year, is filing a wrongful death claim against the rookie of Charlotte Hornets, Brandon Milleras well as two other people.
Former Alabama player, Darius MilesIt is michael davis, the other two involved in the process, are already responsible for homicide in the case, while the athlete was not accused of the crime. The action, filed by Decarla Raietta Heard, mother of the victim, requests a jury trial in order to compensate for the damages caused. In it, it is alleged that Miles, Davis and Miller “Knew, or should have known, that bringing a dangerous weapon into a ‘dispute’ and discharging it would result in harm.”adding that negligence resulted in the death of Harris, who was accompanied by her boyfriend in Tuscaloosa to visit her cousin, when she was shot on the morning of January 15th.
A “wrongful death claim” case takes place against someone who could be held responsible for a death. The lawsuit is a civil action usually brought by relatives in order to be compensated for the losses and damages they suffered. In February, a police investigator testified that Brandon Miller was at the crime scene and that the gun believed to have been used was found in the trunk of his car. The winger recently spoke about what happened: “I never lost sight of the fact that a family lost a loved one that day. This whole situation is very heartbreaking.”he stated.
