The Americans are gradually losing their complete dominance in the strongest basketball league in the world.
The NBA announced that the new regular season will set a record for the number of foreign players in the league. According to BasketNews, 30 teams in the league have 125 foreign players from 40 different countries under contract. Canada (26 players) and France (14 players) will have the largest representation in the NBA.
The previous achievement was set in the 2021/22 season, where there were 121 foreign basketball players in the league.
It is noteworthy that this is the third consecutive season in which there will be at least 120 foreign players in the squads and the tenth consecutive season that there will be at least 100 players.
Moreover, all thirty NBA teams have at least one foreign player. The most “foreign” team of the season will be Dallas And Oklahoma (8 legionnaires each). Followed by Toronto And San Antonio (7), and likewise Boston And Phoenix (6).
We remind you that the previous Ukrainian Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk received an improved contract for the new season with Boston.
