The Ukrainian team won the first quarter, but then the leader of Group A showed his class
Prometheus lost at Arena Riga in the capital of Latvia Paris in the fifth round match of Group A Eurocup — 79:96.
The Ukrainian team had a great start against the group leader. During the first quarter, Prometheus’s lead reached 13 points, but the Parisians still managed to reduce the lead by the end of the quarter.
Ronen Ginzburg’s team was in the lead until the middle of the second period, but then a decisive turning point came in the game. By the big break, Paris had established the score 48:41 in its favor, and in the second half of the game it only increased its advantage, not allowing the opponent to return the intrigue.
The most productive player of the entire match was Prometheus forward Ronald March – 23 points. Paris player Leon Kratzer scored a double-double (12+11).
Having suffered a third defeat in five meetings, Ginzburg’s team dropped to seventh place – below the playoff zone. Paris strengthened its lead in the standings.
Prometheus will play its next match on November 4 against BC Ogre in LABL. On November 8, the Ukrainian team will play in the Eurocup with BC Wolves.
