The second most important competition on the continent, which will have an Argentine presence, will be held in November.
Montevideo, capital of Uruguay, has been designated as the venue for the Super 6 of the 2023 South American Basketball League (LSB), which will be played from November 28 to December 3. It was jointly reported by the South American Basketball Confederation (Consubásquet) and FIBA Regional Office in the Americas.
The renovated Peñarol Palace will be the venue that will host the six teams that have passed the Group Stage. Deportivo San José (Paraguay) and Instituto, for Group A; the host, Peñarol (Uruguay) and Gimnasia y Esgrima de Comodoro, for Group B and Titanes de Barranquilla (Colombia) and Caribbean Storm (Colombia), for Group C.
This is how the definition plays out:
In the Super 6, the teams will be placed according to the results of the previous stage, taking into account the current FIBA Official Basketball Rules. Titanes (1st seed) and Deportivo San José (2nd) will await the results of the matches between Gimnasia y Esgrima (4th) versus Instituto (5th) and Peñarol (3rd) against Caribbean Storm (6th). Then, they will face the winners for the first two spots in the Final 4. The losers of the first two matches will face off and the winner will complete the other two spots in the Final 4.
The current champion is Baurú from Brazil, who won in 2022, at the venue held at the Temple of Rock, in our country.
