Pan American Games: Argentina wins and is in the semifinals

The team suffered more than necessary, but managed to win a difficult match and be among the four best.

Another painful victory for the Argentine National Team, who needed extra time to defeat the Dominican Republic with a very tight 82 to 81. With a poor finish from Néstor García’s team, the light blue and white team got of first place in group A of these Pans. American games with a perfect 3-0 record. When the Dominican Republic struggled on defense, it disrupted the team, which dried up on offense. In the final minutes parity was there. Argentina didn’t score in the last offensive, and it all went to overtime.

Javier Saiz is the leading scorer of the Argentina team. The man from Córdoba scored 19 points, with 8/9 shooting from the field and 5 rebounds. Martín Cuello, with some important closing interventions, completed his score with 12 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds. Franco Baralle completed the offensive trident with 10 goals and 6 assists.

Under the classification, Argentina will wait for the remaining results to know its opponent in the semifinals that will be played this Friday, in the afternoon. The remaining activities for Thursday are:
