American Basketball Center “Zenith” Vince Hunter told what attitude he will have in the match against his former team, UNICS Kazan.
As part of the VTB United League, Zenit will host UNICS on Sunday, November 5. The game will start at 16:00 (Moscow time).
This summer, the 29-year-old American signed a contract with Zenit, the deal is for two years. Last season, the center became the champion of the VTB United League within UNICS.
— Will Sunday’s match against UNICS be particularly important for you?
“It will be a difficult battle, but at the same time a good opportunity for us to show what we are capable of.” Of course, it’s also an important game for me. UNICS is my old team. I want to show that my current team is better. I’ll be ready for that. On the other hand, it’s just another game of the season. And you know, Zenit has goals that we need to achieve. The main thing is improvement. And it’s not about proving that my team is better than UNICS. It’s about development and showing what we can do when we try to win.
— Have you already gotten used to Zenit and St. Petersburg?
– Yes. St. Petersburg is a wonderful city. I always knew he was incredibly beautiful, especially now that it’s colder. I really like this weather. I also really like walking when there is a lot of water around, you can admire beautiful views, it relaxes me. I feel very comfortable here too because the club takes care of everything very well from an organizational point of view. St. Petersburg and Zenit will be my home for the next two years. But I hope for a longer period. Here I can definitely do my job well and grow.
— Does the difficult victory against Yenisey in the previous match add confidence?
“We are now in a situation where any victory helps us get closer to our goals and become better. Therefore, I will answer: yes, this victory added to our confidence,” Hunter told .
