Defender of the basketball club “Zenith” Dmitry Kulagin suspended for the presence in the doping sample of the substance carboxy – THC – a metabolite of tetrahydrocannabinol, according to the website of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).
On Tuesday, it was announced that the 30-year-old basketball player was suspended for an anti-doping rule violation for three months, offset by time served on the provisional suspension. Kulagin’s sentence will expire on September 2.
In July, the basketball player extended his contract with “Zenith” during two years. Previously he played for Nizhny Novgorod, Triumph, Krasnye Krylia, Lokomotiv Kuban and CSKA, with whom he became Euroleague champion in 2016.
