Defender of St. Petersburg basketball club “Zenith” Dmitry Kulagin suspended for three months for an anti-doping rule violation, according to the website of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).
The RUSADA Anti-Doping Rule Violations Preliminary Review Panel sanctioned the 30-year-old basketball player for violating two points of the rules: the presence of a prohibited substance, or its metabolites, or markers in the sample, and Use or Attempted Use of a Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method.
The period of suspension of the player being counted from June 24, the defender is disqualified “with the offset of the period served from the provisional suspension”.
In July, Kulagin extended his contract with “Zenith ” for two years. Previously he played for Nizhny Novgorod, Triumph, Krasnye Krylia, Lokomotiv Kuban and CSKA, where he became Euroleague champion.
