Ronen Ginzburg’s team breaks a three-game losing streak
Prometheus defeated Rigas Zelli in a regular season match Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. Before this match, the club from the capital of Latvia was higher in the standings.
The start of the match turned out to be difficult for the Ukrainian team. For most of the first quarter, the nominal hosts were inferior in score. Only in the middle of the second period of the game did Ronen Ginzburg’s team manage to turn the tide of the game.
The Riga residents fought desperately against the favorite and did not allow Prometheus to increase their lead. It was only in the last quarter that Ginzburg’s team managed to achieve a comfortable advantage.
In this fight, Prometheus broke a series of three consecutive failures. The Ukrainian team lost two matches in the Eurocup (to Paris and BC Wolves), and one to BC Ogre in the LEBL.
The victory allowed Prometheus to overtake Rigas Zelli and rise to second place. The leader in the league is the still undefeated BC Kalev.
On November 14, Prometheus will play in the Eurocup with Hapoel Tel Aviv, and on the 14th they will fight with Pärnu in LEBL.
