This is the first time the NBA has held an intra-season tournament. The teams are divided into six groups of five teams and are also divided into two conferences. Tournament games take place on Tuesdays and Fridays and count toward the regular season. The group winners and one additional team from each conference will qualify for the playoffs. The semi-finals and finals of the tournament will take place in Las Vegas.
