The NBA has opened an investigation into allegations that Oklahoma City guard Josh Giddey had an inappropriate relationship with a minor.
Allegations against the 21-year-old Australian basketball player surfaced on social media this week. An anonymous user reported that the girl Giddy was in the photo with was underage. Giddy himself declined to comment.
“We are looking into this matter,” NBA spokesman Michael Bass was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
Giddy was selected 6th overall by Oklahoma in the 2021 draft. This season, the guard is averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 15 regular season games.
