The Executive Committee of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has extended the suspension of the Russians and Belarusians until the next meeting of the organization’s Central Council, according to the FIBA website.
The FIBA Executive Committee met in Switzerland on November 27.
— The Executive Committee extended the current status quo regarding the participation of Russia and Belarus in the competition [под эгидой] FIBA until the next Central Council meeting, the message states.
In March 2022, FIBA suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participation in competitions under the auspices of the organization. The ban on participation also applies at club level.
