Ukrainian in the course of the NBA season lost playing practice
Ukrainian basketball player Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk commented on his performances last NBA season with Toronto Raptors.
The player said that he had a dialogue with Raptors mentor Nick Ners, who noted the deterioration of the Ukrainian’s game. However, Mykhailiuk hopes to show his best in the new NBA season.
“The season started well for me: I got a lot of time on the court, there was confidence from the coach. But after forty matches, I almost stopped playing and got a minimum of time on the court. I don’t know why it happened. But what is, is. I will prepare for the next season and try to show my best qualities.”
“During the season, I didn’t speak to the coach. And at the end of the season, I had a conversation with a mentor [Ником Нерсом]. He said I didn’t have enough confidence, I didn’t hit “my” shots. He also slowed down the rotation in the team, the guys started to play better and this gave the result.
The player moved to the Toronto camp in August last year. Mikhailyuk played 56 games for the Raptors last season, averaging 4.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
Last season was the fourth for the Ukrainian in the NBA. The Raptors and Mykhailiuk advanced to the NBA Playoffs, where they were eliminated in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers (2:4).
Note that Mikhailyuk activated the player option and will remain a basketball player for the Toronto Raptors. His salary will be $1.9 million.
