Campazzo, Deck and Vildoza were in action on a new Euroleague day. A victory and defeat is the balance for the Argentine.
Round number 12 of the Euroleague began and three of the Argentines saw action on Tuesday afternoon. Facundo Campazzo and Gabriel Deck secured victory for Real Madrid in their visit to Olympiacos, while Luca Vildoza’s Panathinaikos lost at Anadolu Efes.
Madrid returned to victory
The Spanish team achieved a brave victory against Olympiacos by 77-71 to recover from last Thursday’s heavy defeat against Fenerbahce. Individual talent weighed heavily in a match where the locals made things difficult for the leaders.
The Argentines had a more cautious role than usual, but they performed well. Facundo Campazzo nearly reached double-double figures, scoring 9 points and dishing out 9 assists, in addition to 1 recovery and 3 turnovers in just 27 minutes on the court. Gabriel Deck converted 5 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, provided a goal assist, recovered 1 ball and had 2 turnovers in 27 minutes of play.
Merengue’s next match is this Thursday, when they visit Panathinaikos de Vildoza who also played this afternoon.
New fall of Panathinaikos
The Greek team fell to Anadolu Efes 71 to 68, thus achieving its second straight defeat. Luca Vildoza, as it happens, had some action in the match, adding 5 points in 6 minutes on the court.
Their next opponent is Real Madrid to start the Argentine duel in round 13.
Lapro returns to the ring
Barcelona’s chance is now open, where the remaining Argentine Nicolás Laprovittola will play. The game is against Virtud Bologna starting at 4:30 pm
