Former player Carmelo Anthony has not played in the NBA since the beginning of last year, but has received offers from teams in the league and outside the USA
This past Tuesday, the 5th, the former player Carmelo Anthony revealed during his participation in the program “7PM in Brooklyn” that he received some offers to continue acting after the announcement of his retirement. The 10x All-Star confirmed that he was approached by New Orleans Pelicans and by teams from China.
Without playing since April 2022, Carmelo only made his retirement official in May this year. However, after the revelation, it became clear that the winger could have played more. Anthony’s career lasted 19 seasons, and even so, in 2018/19, it was already expected that he would stop after a lackluster spell of just ten games for Houston Rockets. However, he returned to active duty when he signed with Portland Trail Blazers in 2019/20. His last year at NBA how was it Los Angeles Lakers in 2021/22.
Carmelo Anthony in his new podcast said that he received calls from China and the Pelicans before retiring, but obviously he didn’t accept it.
He also said that if the Knicks win the NBA Cup, it will be worth the same as Larry O’Brien. 😂#NewYorkForeverpic.twitter.com/dylmDguXUg

It was unclear when the Pelicans attempted to bring in the winger, but assuming it was before or during the 2022-23 season, Anthony would have added depth to a franchise that has featured Zion Williamson for just 29 matches. In fact, at the time, the team even managed to win 42 victories and a place in the play-in. Unlike other players, Carmelo did not receive a grand send-off so that his admirers could celebrate his legacy.
