Ferro Carril Oeste received the South American champion in Héctor Etchart for the National League. It was a victory for Instituto who won again after losing their streak against Platense. Lucas Victoriano’s team sits in seventh position in the table with seven wins and four losses. Oé remains in fifteenth place, in the last eight games, they have lost five.
The great Glory in Caballito
The match started with red and white overtones, the visitor took the lead very quickly after consistent defenses and quick attacks that they knew how to exploit to their effectiveness. Mauro Cosolito (10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists) was the glorious star in the first two quarters. Victoriano activated his team’s rotation early and Ferro took advantage. They managed to reduce the difference with Alta Córdoba by a few units, however, that distance was at least ten units. La Gloria retired at halftime 19 points ahead of Oeste.
The second half was key for the locals, they continued their comeback led by Emiliano Lezcano (10 points, 1 assist, 2 steals). They managed to reduce the visitor’s lead to ten points. But Instituto recovered from the slump it suffered in the first minute of the third quarter and distanced itself again with a dunk by Bautista Lugarini (7 points, 7 rebounds). La Gloria won by 21 units difference over Héctor Etchart. In Fede Fernández’s team, Lezcano, Spano and Rodríguez were dismissed.
What’s next for you two?
The Instituto will return to Ángel Sandrín to host the Regatas de Corrientes and extend its winning streak to two in a row. Victoriano’s team wants to get into the top five, they have fewer players than all the teams on the podium and if they continue with this consistency, they will achieve it. While Ferro will be on the road to visit Independiente de Oliva at Giant on Route 9.
