Basketball player “Zenith” Sergei Karasev escaped serious injury during the VTB United League match against CSKA, said the general director of the St. Petersburg team, Alexander Tserkovny.
Sunday’s match ended in favor of the Army team in overtime – 104:89. Karasev was injured in the fourth quarter, falling on his back after a collision with Samson Ruzhentsev. The basketball player was only able to leave the court on a stretcher, accompanied by a medical team. The head coach “Zenith” Javier Pascual said after the match that the player had been sent to hospital for examination.
